November Vlog

What a way ti start the holidays with November! I lived my first Thanksgiving and Black Friday experience!
It feel very weird because I felt like I knew a lot about it from before, you know what you get ti see in movies and since my school worked with a very "american system," it was as if I experienced ir before, but not reeally.

Eveb though my Thanksgiving dinnee was not to anerican-ish it was still a beautiful dinner with my Ucranian/Mexican/American host family. We had a little taste if every country so it was like home for me.

That morning I also went to the SO famous Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. I thiught there would be A LOT of people, but I got there and found a spot where I was able to see everything. I loved it so much, it was lovely and so festive. I really, really enjoyed it, so much that I almost filmed the entire thing! (Yiu will notice in my video).

And for Black Friday I was soooo ready to "shop until I drop"! But the truth is I couldn't find any good sales. Well I guess I wasn't ment to spend any money at all. I went with Ariane and some of her friends from New Jersey. Even though we didn't buy anything we had so much fun. By the end of the day we went to Batery Park and had the most ANAZING hot chocolate. We sat by the ice skating rink and chat for a while. It was more than beautiful.

I also included a little bit of stage combat! I joined the club in August, and we are getting to do some real cool stuff. I am not good at it but Hod do I enjoy it! Besides everyone is so nice and funny, they care so much that we learn and we are able to maybe use it in our careers. On December we are filming a Short, the fight starts with an argument related to the Stabucks' "red cup" thing. It is si funny can't actually wait.

I just can thank enough for everything that has been going on. I just can believe how much God loves me and blesses me with every single day. At times I honestly think I might wake up of this dream, but I am still here, which is insane. Thanks, thanks, thanks for another beautiful month. Next month would be half NY and half back home! Get ready for Christmas!

"Tell me everything you are feeling..." "No."

As incredibly as it may sound, I used to be a ballerina . Yup, I mean of course not professionally or something close to that. I say this because I was not even two years old and I started my ballet classes, and I stopped until I moved to Spain (if you want to make the count, about 19 years of ballet). I knew I was not good, that I did not had the body of a ballerina because I could just not quit eating like crazy or the strength a ballerina should have. But I can say that I loved it every single moment. Still, I know that being a ballerina it is just so much hard work and determination, and this is what I saw in Flesh and Bone.

This show just went straight to my heart, specially because all of the characters are so human. There is this "romantic" perspective about ballet, and in a way it is, but behind it there is so much pain. I think the careers of dancers (and soccer players, but that is a whole other story) are quite hard, because you depend on your body. Flesh and Bone shows this dark side and the struggles of a young ballerina, Claire.

There are just 8 episodes, and I could not stop watching, I suffered with every single one of the characters, their lives and constant fights. The acting is unbelievable, they have real dancers so this goes to a whole other level!

A fun fact is that they film the last episode at Purchase! They are supposed to be in a theater in NYC, but nooo it is my school and even the rooms I take class!

I just had to recommend this to everyone! Yes, I know it's around the ballet world and not everyone enjoys that, but I am pretty sure you can identify with this characters struggles and feelings. Give it a try and you would just be hooked to it! If you do let me know and we can have intense discussions!

Living the dream

This week it's gonna be 3 months since I got to New York... INSANE! Time goes by waaaaay too fast. I just had to do a montage of what has been going on this last September and October.

It starts with the apple picking activity that the international department organized for all the international students! It was incredibly beautiful and so american, but I had so much fun. Also I went to a basketball game at Madison Square Garden! It is such a huge and beautiful place.

Then I went with my partner in crime Ari to Aladdin the Musical, which blew my mind everyone is way too talented.

Also I got to do some sort of internship at my school in the costume crew, and it was such hard work but we still managed to have fun.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Happy Holidays!

Well... I know it might be too soon but still it is starting to smell like Christmas! It is one of my favorite seasons of the year! And since in less than a month I'll be back home for the holidays I thought I should share a video from last year! It seems like this was yesterday, I can't believe it is going to be Christmas again! So back home we have many different traditions from other countries.

Posadas
In my family we have this tradition where we do 9 days, of this sort of party, in representation of the nine months of Virgin Mary's pregnancy. Each day it's in a different house, and what we do is sings songs, do a representation of what Mary and David did, pray, eat a lot and hit the piñata!

I love doing all of this because I get to spend a lot of time with my family and friends and I get to see everyone having such a great time.

Can't wait to go! I mean I'm having an awesome time here but I could have a big hug from everyone back home.

I have in the works a video from September - October here in New York, and also I should start doing the November one... oops! Last week my American/Ucrenian/Mexican adoptive family took me to the zoo in Central Park! It was such a beautiful day, so perfect! The video won't make justice to it but still you need to see it!

Hello!

2 years ago... well, not exactly two years ago, but yes at the beginning of this month I celebrated that I arrived to Spain! Is in it crazy how fast time goes by? I wrote a small post thanking everyone, since this year I am not there I still wanted to thank everyone. It has been a crazy ride, but the most wonderful one. Of course there are days that I miss home so much, but it is also true that I have without even noticing, built my home there. My school, friends and adoptive family back in Spain, I love you so much and I miss you so incredibly much.

The Birthday Vlog!

Hello!
So today I was doing some homework and all of a sudden I recalled my birthday, and I thought I could edit a video of that day... and here it is!

I had such an amazing time that day, I enjoyed it so much. The people that I love the most and that wanted to be there were there, well except for my people in Spain, but besides that everything went more than perfect.

In the video there are many special moments for me: my sister trying to avoid me filling her, my mom telling the story of the day I was born, my friends and our crazy conversations, my aunts singing, and the most special our friend Salome (my birthday was the last day I spent with her.). I miss her so much and it is still crazy to think that she is not here anymore.

Thanks to everyone who joined me that day and made it so wonderful

Dreams do come true

Hello

Yes, I know I always do this and I always say I will stop and do this frequently and I don't. Soooo I will stop promising that I will and I'll do it when I can do it. With this said I can start with my bla bla bla ;).

I always say that dreams do come true, of course there is hard work involved, but they do happen. I look back and I remember my 12 year old self dreaming of acting just on the school stage. Later on I day dreamed about acting on Broadway. I always said to my friends how much I would love to travel the world, act all around the world and live in New York.

Now I see my life and I have no clue in what instant it all became true. It al started when I moved to Spain and since then all my dreams started coming realities. I have about a month and a half living in New York... NEW YORK. Of course I have to do a lot of sacrifices because everything is SO expensive, but in the end it is worth it.

Also, I am attending to a University in New York... WHAT? So now, I did an audition, thinking that by any chance I would get a role. Then I got a callback and that on it's own it was insane, and then I got the read for the two leading roles on the play... CRAY-ZY.

Today I got the news that I am in the cast... as a LEADING ROLE. The role it is not important to me at all, I have learned to have fun doing what I love, no matter what the job involves. But of course, I won't lie, it is very satisfying to get this responsibility. I have been acting since I was five years old, and I have many joys but also many struggles.

This have just started, and I am incredibly blessed. Full of joy, couldn't ask for more. I know this is just the beginning and I have to work three times harder.

Lot's of love
