"Tell me everything you are feeling..." "No."

As incredibly as it may sound, I used to be a ballerina . Yup, I mean of course not professionally or something close to that. I say this because I was not even two years old and I started my ballet classes, and I stopped until I moved to Spain (if you want to make the count, about 19 years of ballet). I knew I was not good, that I did not had the body of a ballerina because I could just not quit eating like crazy or the strength a ballerina should have. But I can say that I loved it every single moment. Still, I know that being a ballerina it is just so much hard work and determination, and this is what I saw in Flesh and Bone.

This show just went straight to my heart, specially because all of the characters are so human. There is this "romantic" perspective about ballet, and in a way it is, but behind it there is so much pain. I think the careers of dancers (and soccer players, but that is a whole other story) are quite hard, because you depend on your body. Flesh and Bone shows this dark side and the struggles of a young ballerina, Claire.

There are just 8 episodes, and I could not stop watching, I suffered with every single one of the characters, their lives and constant fights. The acting is unbelievable, they have real dancers so this goes to a whole other level!

A fun fact is that they film the last episode at Purchase! They are supposed to be in a theater in NYC, but nooo it is my school and even the rooms I take class!

I just had to recommend this to everyone! Yes, I know it's around the ballet world and not everyone enjoys that, but I am pretty sure you can identify with this characters struggles and feelings. Give it a try and you would just be hooked to it! If you do let me know and we can have intense discussions!
